VDC Specialist

Location: Nashville, TN 37210
Role Summary

Responsible for learning JE Dunn processes and tools, developing professional skills, and delivering value‑add services to project teams and internal customers. Supports VDC processes and workflows for assigned projects, performing routine activities such as base modeling, coordinating models, and assembling model content using a variety of tools and technologies.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core

Provide models and documents necessary to complete scope as determined with VDC/BIM leadership and project teams.
Assemble 3D content modeled by others and model any content not provided.
Maintain a productive and efficient BIM process.
Create and maintain clear and effective project documentation, such as meeting agendas, minutes, and constraint logs.
Support operations with the RFI process for BIM‑related items.
Maintain working relationships with subcontractors and project teams.
Assume responsibility for learning the VDC processes and standards and apply them to assigned projects.
Read and comprehend construction documents and project BIM requirements and apply them to VDC processes.
Incorporate design updates into project models.
Analyze construction documents and models for errors and omissions, making corrections as necessary.
Support operations with self‑perform model management and layout.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Accurately and completely perform work in a timely manner.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Set up and establish project‑specific VDC technology to support project delivery strategy.
Read construction documents and specifications.
Build relationships and collaborate within a team both internally and externally.
Learn and apply BIM technology solutions to VDC processes; familiarity with Autodesk BIM 360 Glue, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Design Collaboration, Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP), Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks Manage (including JE Dunn clash spheres program), Trimble SketchUp, and Bluebeam.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of the above requirements.
Experience

0–2 years of construction experience and/or summer internship/co‑op experience in construction (preferred).
Working Environment

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Travel is not typically required.
Willingness to work non‑traditional hours to meet business needs.
Normal office environment, but may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
Frequent activity: sitting, viewing computer screen.
Occasional activity: standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
