OSP Engineer III

Mountain Ltd. offers an OSP Engineer position in the Helena, MT area.
Overview

The OSP Engineer performs detailed outside plant facility engineering tasks, including estimating, analyzing, designing, and planning, budget tracking, and monitoring actual costs for copper and fiber cables, poles, direct buried and conduit systems. Responsibilities include preparing and interpreting engineering plans, drawings, and reports; preparing loop loss design for load and repeater electronics; planning and designing field-mount switch serving areas; performing pole, conduit, and buried facility design measurements to support company and industry OSP design standards; and conducting economic feasibility studies. The position also involves developing and tracking specific job budgets, conducting periodic job inspections and quality control, collecting field data, preparing permit packages, maintaining complex files, and assisting engineers as requested.
Qualifications

Ability to identify existing voice/data plant, electric, and other utilities on the site plans as well as in the field.
Ability to indicate existing voice/data plant location and relocate facilities, and knowledge of obtaining right-of-ways and easements where required.
Must have experience managing other OSP Engineers and reviewing/correcting their projects.
Expert in obtaining right-of-ways and easements where required.
Capable of engineering routine and specific COE/OSP work orders, including more complex projects such as road moves.
Expert knowledge of COE/OSP principles, work order procedures, voice/data industry standards, PC applications, and COE/OSP record and/or CAD systems.
Own tools such as a measuring wheel, height stick, pull finder, laptop, etc.
Experience with local networks.
Ability to perform quality control on engineering work for other team members.
Experience/understanding with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) for engineering requirements.
