This position is located in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, Office of Brazilian and Southern Cone Affairs (WHA/BSC). WHA is responsible for managing the day-to-day diplomatic relations between the United States and the government of the Western Hemisphere with the goal of making America safer, stronger, and more prosperous while thwarting the efforts of extra-Hemispheric competitors to monopolize the region's strategic minerals and strategic infrastructure.
