Job Overview

The Assistant Editor is responsible for supporting the Zuffa life event edit staff in their daily needs, facilitating the archive of fighter reels and maintaining all pre‑production needs for content airing in our TV broadcasts. This position is based at Zuffa headquarters and does not require travel. The role may involve working swing shift or late evening hours as needed.
Responsibilities

Support the edit staff in daily operations, including archiving fighter reels.
Create template‑based graphics (name identifying graphics and animations) for broadcast use.
Log and export content from the Digital Asset System for use by editors.
Build media projects in AVID Media Composer for each event, including highlights of each fighter, name graphics, and specialty footage.
Manage media for multiple events simultaneously, staying within storage capacity limitations.
Edit content as needed to support live event requirements.
Ensure timely delivery of assets to the editing team.
Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
1–2 years of experience in a related field.
Basic editing skills and knowledge of AVID Media Composer or equivalent.
Knowledge of video codecs, compression methods, and post‑production standards.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop and After Effects, is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and ability to learn other basic programs.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with individuals at all levels.
Ability to manage deadlines and execute tasks on time.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain discretion and handle confidential information.
Capability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
Decision‑making ability and adaptability to non‑traditional hours (swing shift, graveyard, weekends).
Knowledge of UFC historical information is helpful.
