Job Summary

The Creative Director powers Blue Hour’s creative output from idea to execution. They conceive and pitch branded concepts across social, event, partnership, community, OOH, and legacy channels, presenting polished strategies alongside creative team members and the broader Blue Hour team (Account, Strategy, Influencer). They lead client workshops and sessions, ensure premium creative quality, and provide input on productions and design projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage junior creative team members.
  • Provide constructive feedback and keep the team updated with new processes, tools, and ideas.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage expectations.
  • Set growth expectations for junior creatives.

Who You Are

Hands‑on, culturally attuned, and insatiably curious. A tastemaker and identifiable leader on the bleeding edge of real‑world and online culture, you know how to bring others ‘inside’ on it. You’re passionate about social media, branded social content, and influencers/creators, and you understand algorithms and what makes content resonate.

You communicate ideas through powerful, concise storytelling and curated visuals that sell ideas. You stay ahead of the next advertising or social media trend and know what makes headlines hit culture.

You have a realistic understanding of culture outside advertising and use market and industry research to inform new ideas. You have experience in design or general art direction across mediums, possibly producing shoots or directing on sets.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years in a creative role.
  • 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Portfolio with projects on TikTok, Reels, X, and/or YouTube Shorts for brands.
  • Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills to sell work.
  • Strong conceptual skills with passion for social media.
  • Culture‑first thinker who can translate insights into creative work.
  • High design aesthetic and experience in design thinking.
  • Strong observational skills, ability to distill complex nuances.
  • Experience managing design, production, and experiential teams to execute brand content and experiences, including on‑set work.
  • Innate curiosity and compassion.
  • Proficiency in Google Slides, PowerPoint, Keynote, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects).

Salary Range

$160,000.00 – $190,000.00

A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
