Basic Function

Assists school administrators in meeting responsibilities of District Representative for Admission and Review Committee (ARC) meetings.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule ARC conferences according to procedures and timelines.
  • Chair designated ARCs as the district representative.
  • Co‑chair ARCs when building principals need to be involved.
  • Enter data at the school level into the district tracking system and state tracking system (Infinite Campus) for child count, etc.
  • Complete due process forms correctly and accurately.
  • Assist school and district personnel in adherence to timelines.
  • Assist in documenting adherence to compliance indicators using the Kentucky Compliance Record Review document.
  • Assist with document management of referrals for individual evaluation.
  • Maintain professional competency through professional development activities and other appropriate professional growth activities.
  • Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics as established by the Education Professional Standards Board.
  • Perform other duties as specified by the Director of Special Education.

Knowledge Of

  • Ability to communicate knowledge effectively to others.
  • Ability to develop certified and classified staff professionally through effective coaching strategies.
  • Knowledge of various areas of due process, including referral, timelines, ARC procedures, least restrictive environments, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ten years’ experience as a Special Education teacher, Speech Pathologist, or School Psychologist preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in Education or Certificate in School Administration preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of board policy for certified evaluation.
