Position Overview
Director, Experiential and Events Artist Relations – leads the planning, execution, and management of experiential moments and events for artists across tours, promotional appearances, live performances, and curated activations at Interscope Capitol.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute artist‑facing experiential moments in partnership with artist teams, internal label departments, and external vendors.
- Develop and manage artist itineraries and day‑to‑day schedules for experiential activities, ensuring accurate logistics and proactive problem‑solving.
- Coordinate vendor load‑in, fabrication, build timing, and artist arrivals.
- Anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts, manage last‑minute changes, and maintain vendor expectations.
- Build, manage, and optimize budgets for promotional events, showcases, and activations; partner with Finance/Marketing to create and secure budgets, identify efficiencies, and recommend cost‑saving solutions.
- Negotiate budgets with vendors and approve spend within established thresholds.
- Oversee travel logistics (flights, trains, cars, hotels) and ensure cost‑effective execution.
- Manage ticketing, VIP requests, artist guest lists, credentials, VIP tables, and day‑of‑show parking/entry workflows.
- Lead artist showcases and experiential builds from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with the artist’s identity and audience impact.
- Own settlement and accounting workflows: review event/accounting documents, calculate backend, support negotiations and settlements, and manage invoice processing for related expenses.
- Plan and execute internal company events and meetings – building budgets, sourcing venues, and managing third‑party vendors.
- Mentor and support Touring & Events/Artist Relations staff and supervise interns where required.
- Incorporate a creative, experiential lens to drive culturally relevant experiences that authentically represent the artist on time and on budget.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in music experiential events with budget responsibility.
- Intimate knowledge of working with music labels and internal teams.
- Strong computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web proficiency; experience with VME or PRS strongly preferred.
- Proactive, organized, self‑starter with strong problem‑solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Exceptional time‑management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently, be a team player, adapt to all situations, and handle stress.
- Travel required (including late‑night local travel); availability to attend local shows, events, and weekends.
