Associate Director, Primary Market Research
Within our Digital Human Health organization we are transforming to better power decision‑making across our end‑to‑end commercialization process, from business development to late lifecycle management. As a dynamic talent for the role of Associate Director, Primary Market Research, the Market Research Associate Director (Hybrid) will serve as the key point of contact for market research responsibilities within the Oncology Business Unit, supporting the Pan‑Tumor franchise and other tumor areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee execution of the global market research plan within the product franchise with a strategic mindset and minimal supervision.
- Provide leadership and strategic thinking for primary market research projects, framing critical business questions, identifying information needs, and managing the research process to deliver objective insights on key customers, competitors, and market developments.
- Take full ownership of understanding business challenges, propose appropriate methods, apply best practices, and consider new techniques and innovations to meet objectives.
- Design and implement market research studies, manage budget, and brief vendor partners on objectives, timelines, compliance, and actionable insights.
- Articulate research rationale, hypotheses, and methodology to stakeholders and ensure business objectives are met and communicated effectively.
- Assess and direct vendor technical capabilities, manage risks in the analytic process, and facilitate discussion with marketing/commercial teams to integrate insights into decision‑making.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (marketing communications, market access, commercial team, advertising agency) to integrate research findings into launch and post‑launch activities.
- Assist forecasting team in analyses that inform strategic assumptions for brand forecasts and key performance indicator tracking.
- Partner with analytic functions to advance the use of novel data sources including Real World Data.
- Lead and support ad‑hoc franchise‑wide initiatives as needed.
- Communicate strategic recommendations and insights through compelling storytelling to deliver concise, actionable results.
Qualifications
- Education: BA/BS degree.
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing or market research.
- Past roles in market research, analytics, sales, forecasting, access and pricing, marketing or competitive intelligence.
- Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills with strategic thinking.
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and in interpreting secondary data sets, analytics, and epidemiology data.
- Proven ability to communicate research outputs with effective storytelling that turns data into actionable insights.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management and ability to act as a strategic consultant.
- Proficient technical aptitude to build expertise with current and innovative market research techniques.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests from marketing and extended team members.
- Strong leadership and change‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology experience (solid and/or hematologic cancers).
- Launch excellence and early commercial development knowledge.
- Familiarity with marketing strategy development.
- Leadership around customer focus, decision making, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Project management skills and ability to motivate without authority.
- Ability to support transformation and manage change in a fast‑paced environment.
Salary & Benefits
Salary range: $156,900.00 – $247,000.00. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable.
