Sr. Lead, Category Marketing - Sportswear, Collabs, & Basketball

Purpose of Role

The Sr. Lead, Category Marketing – Sportswear role is responsible for category marketing strategy and oversight of execution for all marketing related activity within the categories. The role involves crafting go‑to‑market strategies, positioning, and activation plans for specific category business units within the Americas region, driving brand consideration and affinity and retail sales through consumer‑focused marketing activations.

Your Impact

  • Plans and executes category campaigns that align with global category strategy and drive sales goals across revenue channels (DTC, wholesale accounts) and marketing channels (CE, in‑store, etc.)
  • Works with regional cross‑functional partners (revenue channel marketers, merchandising, visual, etc.) to prioritize storytelling for the Sportswear category, focusing on brand building and foundational commercial stories
  • Serves as single point of contact for all Sportswear marketing
  • Authors briefs (master, creative) to initiate and develop category‑level support elements for the Americas region, building on global briefs where relevant
  • Partners with regional marketing channel teams to consult on seasonal tactical briefs and acts as a stakeholder throughout seasonal execution
  • Drives and delivers go‑to‑market timelines for relevant global and regional campaigns
  • Provides input on sports marketing briefs and activation for brand assets
  • Coordinates with regions to ensure campaigns are regionally relevant, integrating global positioning into planning
  • Ensures briefs and feedback provided to global from regions aid in the development of campaign elements that can be successfully leveraged by the region
  • Builds budget recommendations for Americas category activation and acts as stakeholder in execution with marketing channel teams
  • Partners with and supports Product and Brand Marketing Leadership
  • Builds close partnerships with all cross‑functional teams related to the category, in region and globally, and ensures relevant insights are cascaded to key stakeholders
  • Collaborates with Consumer Insights team on collection of competitive analysis, industry studies and sales analysis relevant to the global market/consumer
  • Assists Marketing Ops to measure effectiveness of marketing tactics
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant marketing experience in a fast‑paced, product‑oriented, consumer‑driven company
  • Build marketing strategies tied to a business plan (long and short‑term)
  • Strong Product Marketing skills
  • Consumer and Business Analytics
  • Consumer Segmentation and Targeting
  • Creative Process Briefing
  • Budgeting, ROI Quantification
  • Internal client partnership‑building with product teams
  • Global curiosity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including creative briefs, presentations (PowerPoint, Keynote, and verbal storytelling)
  • Previous experience at a sports company or retail environment is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel)

Workplace Location

  • Location: Reside within commuting distance from our New York City office.
  • Work Schedule: Hybrid schedule, 4 days in‑office per week.

Relocation

  • Relocation may be provided up to a specified amount.

Base Compensation

$140,000.00-$180,000.00 USD
