Director – Private Autism School (Yuma, AZ)

Flex It Academy is seeking a compassionate, organized, and solution-oriented Director to help lead our growing private school serving students with autism and related needs in Yuma, Arizona.

This position is ideal for someone who believes that relationships, emotional regulation, flexibility, and individualized support are just as important as academics.

We are not a traditional public school environment. We are looking for a leader who is:

  • and passionate about helping neurodiverse students succeed.

Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting daily school operations
  • Supervising and coaching staff
  • Assisting with student behavior support and crisis management
  • Communicating with families professionally and compassionately
  • Maintaining strong, consistent communication with central office leadership
  • Collaborating closely with administration regarding staffing, student needs, scheduling, compliance, and operational concerns
  • Helping maintain a positive school culture
  • Assisting with scheduling, compliance, and student support plans
  • Helping ensure classrooms remain structured, safe, and student-centered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with autism or special needs
  • Leadership or management experience preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain flexible and calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate proactively, consistently, and professionally with central office and school leadership
  • Experience in education, behavioral health, therapy, or related fields is helpful
  • Teaching certification is appreciated but not required for the right candidate
