We are currently in an active growth phase and seeking a sharp editorial leader to scale our reach and influence.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a strategic and experienced Editorial & Growth Lead to oversee our editorial team and serve as the primary architect of our audience expansion. Beyond maintaining content quality, you will be responsible for developing and executing a consistent audience growth strategy that increases our global footprint. You will work at the intersection of editorial excellence, data analytics and platform distribution to ensure IBT remains a daily destination for business news readers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Audience Growth & Retention : Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to drive consistent month-over-month growth in unique visitors and loyal readers.
  • Strategic Leadership & Talent Development : Recruit, coach and manage a team of editors and reporters, aligning their daily output with broader growth KPIs and brand objectives in a fast-paced digital environment.
  • Data-Driven Editorial : Utilize analytics and BI (GA4, Chartbeat, Exploding Topics, etc.) to identify high-performing content trends and pivot coverage to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Standards & Innovation : Refine and ensure editorial standards are maintained while integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and scale content production, without sacrificing quality.
  • Multi-Platform Distribution : Collaborate with other departments to refine SEO, newsletter, and social media strategies to ensure a diversified and resilient traffic mix.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Growth Track Record : Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in a digital news environment with a demonstrable history of growing audience.
  • Editorial Leadership : At least 1 year of experience directly managing an editorial team and overseeing a high-volume publishing calendar.
  • Strategic Mindset : Deep understanding of the modern digital ecosystem, including AI, SEO, algorithmic discovery (Google News/Discover) and social distribution.
  • Tech Savvy : Fluency with AI tools in a journalism context to drive efficiency and audience insights.
  • Strong News Judgment : Sharp editorial instincts with the ability to spot stories that will resonate globally.
  • Communication : Exceptional written and verbal skills and the ability to lead teams across multiple locations/time zones.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Topical Knowledge : A strong background in business, finance, technology, or global macro-affairs news coverage.
  • SEO : Advanced knowledge of SEO-driven editorial strategy and keyword research.
  • International Experience : Familiarity with managing multi-site or global newsrooms.
