Role Overview
The Regional Sales Director will drive growth in an established, high-performing territory covering the Mid Atlantic. As an independent contributor with no direct reports, you will focus on acquiring and growing relationships with new individual brokers, producer groups and national accounts, as well as maintaining existing relationships. The role includes providing direction on production goals, account status, trends, and marketing initiatives, guiding the strategy for key accounts, and building deep understanding of client organizations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Implement key account strategies and processes, including gold sheet, action plans, and strategic marketing plans.
- Develop and manage relationships with existing broker/account partnerships and recruit new broker/accounts.
- Communicate regularly the status of accounts to the DBS team, keeping them informed of pertinent issues, especially during onboarding.
- Continuously develop industry, carrier, and product knowledge.
- Contribute to overall success and profitability of the agency.
- Meet or exceed acquired and assigned account production goals.
Education And/or Experience
- Past sales and relationship management experience in the life insurance industry.
- FINRA Series 6, 7, or 63 required.
- College degree or higher education preferred.
- Life and Health License.
Knowledge, Skills, And/or Abilities
- Leadership, organizational and people skills, flexibility, team orientation.
- Ability to travel within assigned region approximately 40–50% of the time.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Salesforce (or similar CRM), and Concur.
- Strong written and oral communication; ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a budget.
- High focus on quality and customer satisfaction; ability to adapt to change positively.
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive base salary range of $64,000 to $75,000 plus overrides, with top performers capable of earning $250,000+ annually, as well as performance-based incentives. Travel within the assigned region is required approximately 40% of the time to engage with clients, attend industry events, and drive business expansion.
