What you’ll be doing
The National Sales Manager will lead the company’s commercial function across the UK, with responsibility for the effective performance of the Sales and wider Commercial Team. This is a highly commercial, people‑centric leadership role focused on delivering sustainable revenue growth, profit performance, and market expansion, while simultaneously developing the capability and effectiveness of each individual in the team.
The NSM will manage three territory managers, two product managers, and one clinical applications manager who oversees two applications specialists. The NSM will be the commercial leader, primarily focusing on people management and getting the best out of individuals, and will be actively leading the sales team out in the field.
The successful candidate will drive the creation and execution of commercial strategy, oversee sales operations, manage budgets, build strong supplier and customer relationships, and champion the adoption of CRM and operational systems. A core part of the role is to nurture a high‑performance culture, one centred on accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement to ensure every team member becomes the best version of themselves and achieves their full potential.
As a key member of the Senior Management Team and wider Group, the National Sales Manager will be expected to role‑model the company’s values, inspire others, and contribute to shaping the company’s long‑term success.
What you’ll need
Some level of management experience is required; an RSM looking to step up is acceptable, but it's not suitable for a first‑time management role.
- Preferably from a capital equipment background and understands longer sales cycles.
- Experience managing teams using CRMs is crucial.
- Experience working with frameworks is highly valued.
- Excitement and "get up and go" attitude.
- Ability to juggle and prioritise different products, especially if from a distribution background.
- Strong commercial skills are required.
