Director of Corporate Communications
Reporting to: Senior Director of Corporate Communications
Location: Boston, MA / Remote
The Director of Corporate Communications is a critical member of PTC’s Corporate Communications team and a trusted partner to senior marketing leadership and the Executive Leadership team. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated communications strategies that protect and advance PTC’s corporate reputation and ensure consistent, compelling narratives across all stakeholder audiences. From proactive storytelling to crisis response, this role will play a central part in shaping how PTC is perceived by customers, partners, employees, investors, and the broader market.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Narrative & Messaging
- Messaging Architecture: developing and maintaining PTC’s core corporate narrative, key messages, and proof points used consistently across communications channels and stakeholder audiences.
- Thought Leadership: identifying opportunities to position PTC and its executives as credible voices on industry trends, technology innovation, and business transformation.
- Content Development: writing and editing a wide range of corporate communications materials including press releases, bylines, talking points, Q&A, fact sheets, and executive briefing documents.
Crisis & Reputation Management
- Crisis Preparedness: developing and maintaining PTC’s crisis communications framework, playbooks, and response protocols across a range of scenarios.
- Issues Management: identifying, monitoring, and managing emerging reputational risks before they escalated, partnering cross-functionally to align on response strategies.
- Crisis Response: leading real-time communications response during active issues, including message development, stakeholder sequencing, and spokesperson coordination.
- Reputation Measurement: developing repeatable methods to track PTC’s reputational health and the effectiveness of crisis and issues response over time.
Executive Communications
- Executive Visibility: supporting senior leaders with communications strategy, including speaking opportunities, award submissions, and external profile-building.
- Presentation & Speech Support: partnering with executives to develop compelling narratives for keynotes, panel appearances, earnings calls, and all‑hands meetings.
Internal Communications
- Employee Messaging: partnering with HR and senior leadership to develop internal communications that keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with company strategy.
- Change Communications: developing communications plans that support organizational changes, business updates, and strategic announcements with clarity and consistency.
Stakeholder & Partner Communications
- Building and maintaining communications frameworks for reaching key stakeholder groups – including employees, investors, customers, and partners – during both business‑as‑usual and high‑stakes moments.
- Partnering closely with Investor Relations, Legal, and HR to ensure aligned, compliant messaging across all audiences.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, with broad exposure across executive communications, internal communications, and crisis management.
- Direct experience managing high‑visibility issues or crises, preferably for a public company.
- Proven track record of developing corporate narratives that resonate across stakeholder audiences.
- Strong understanding of the modern communications landscape.
- Proven ability to partner with and advise C‑suite executives with confidence and discretion.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with Legal, HR, Investor Relations, and Marketing.
