Events Marketing Lead

Bunkerhill Health · San Francisco, CA, USA ·

Pay:
$164,000-$196,000/yr
Job type:
Full Time

About The Role

We're hiring an Events Marketing Lead to own how Bunkerhill shows up in the world—at the conferences and trade shows that matter in healthcare, and through the intimate, high-impact experiences we host ourselves. This is not a coordinator role. You will own end-to-end execution across our full event portfolio—from major healthcare conferences to executive dinners, recruiting events, and Bunkerhill-hosted summits. You will define what we do at each event, how we show up, and what happens before and after to make sure every activation drives real outcomes. You will work closely with our founders, our head of marketing, and across content, sales, and other functions we continue to build. This is a high-ownership role in a lean, fast-moving environment. You will set the strategy, run the logistics, and hold yourself accountable for outcomes.

What You'll Do

Event Execution & Portfolio Management

  • Own end-to-end execution across our full event portfolio—conferences, trade shows, recruiting events, executive dinners, roundtables, and Bunkerhill-hosted summits
  • Lead conference and trade show execution with tight project management: pre-event outreach, logistics, onsite operations, and ancillary programming
  • Design and run owned activations (executive dinners, customer roundtables, Bunkerhill Summits) as a core part of how we build relationships with customers, prospects, and partners
  • Know when to bring in outside help—for larger productions like major conference booths or flagship summits, identify, engage, and direct vendors or event agencies to execute at the level the moment requires
  • Manage all event logistics end-to-end: venues, vendors, catering, AV, travel, materials, and onsite coordination
  • Build repeatable playbooks for each event type so execution gets tighter over time and doesn't depend on reinventing from scratch

Strategy & Prioritization

  • Partner with founders and marketing leadership to shape how Bunkerhill is positioned and experienced at each event
  • Determine the right programming for each context: who we're trying to reach, what experience we want to create, and what a successful outcome looks like
  • Develop our speaker program strategy—identifying opportunities, managing submissions, and preparing speakers for high-visibility moments
  • Support the content team to ensure event moments translate into content: recaps, customer stories, social coverage, and thought leadership

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Define what success looks like for each event type and track it—meetings generated, relationships advanced, pipeline influenced, and qualitative signal from the team
  • Manage event budgets with rigor, making smart trade-offs and advocating clearly for investment based on expected outcomes
  • Conduct structured post-mortems after major events and feed those learnings back into planning and execution

What Success Looks Like

  • Our owned activations feel distinctive and well-designed—people leave wanting to come back
  • Conference presence is tight and intentional: we show up prepared, we have the right conversations, and we follow through
  • Every event has a clear plan before and a clear read-out after
  • Cross-functional coordination is smooth—founders, sales, and the content team know what's happening and what's expected of them
  • We're getting smarter about which events are worth it and how to do them better

Who You Are

  • You take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks—you're the person who makes sure things actually happen
  • You're highly organized and can hold a lot of moving pieces simultaneously without dropping details
  • You have strong operational instincts and know how to run complex logistics under pressure
  • You're a clear communicator with real executive presence—comfortable engaging with senior healthcare leaders and representing Bunkerhill at high-visibility moments
  • You have a point of view on what makes an event experience genuinely good, and you fight for it
  • You move quickly, make judgment calls with incomplete information, and course-correct without drama
  • You think in systems: you build playbooks, document what works, and make the next event easier than the last

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience executing a range of B2B events—conferences, trade shows, and owned activations—from planning through post-event follow-up
  • Strong project management skills and a track record of keeping complex programs moving across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience managing event budgets and vendor and agency relationships, knowing when outside help raises the bar versus adds overhead
  • Comfort operating with significant autonomy in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where the plan will change
  • Willingness to travel regularly for events, customer dinners, and on-site activations
  • SF-based, in-office 3+ days per week

Nice to Have

  • Experience in healthcare, health IT, or clinical AI; familiarity with the healthcare conference landscape (HIMSS, HLTH, Becker's, ViVE, etc.)
  • Experience with adjacent industries (enterprise tech, life sciences, or other regulated B2B sectors) with complex event landscapes
  • Comfort with CRM-based measurement and pipeline attribution

Compensation Range: $164K - $196K
