Senior Story Desk Editor

Leading a dynamic newsroom team, the full-time Senior Story Desk Editor will manage breaking news production and editorial direction during assigned dayparts, curating impactful stories across digital, social, and broadcast platforms.
Key responsibilities:

Lead a team of story desk editors, overseeing breaking news and coordinating social media efforts
Monitor and update developing stories across all platforms to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Create and publish content for digital platforms while optimizing coverage for peak audience engagement

Required qualifications:

3-5 years of journalism experience in a local newsroom or digital production role
Prior experience in leading newsroom teams or effective collaboration with peers
Strong news judgment and ability to make quick editorial decisions under pressure
Excellent writing and editing skills for producing compelling content rapidly
Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications, or equivalent experience
