Moog’s Power & Data Division is seeking a Director, Sales and Business Development to lead global sales, marketing, business development, and long-term growth initiatives across a diverse portfolio of highly engineered products and solutions. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping near-term and long-term strategies, driving global revenue expansion, and ensuring sustained competitive advantage across three major Business Units: Slip Rings, Motion Control, and Rugged Optical Solutions.
This position oversees worldwide sales execution, including direct regional sales teams and an extensive international manufacturer’s representative network. The Director will play a critical role in transforming the sales organization, strengthening customer engagement, and supporting the Power & Data Division’s strategic alignment with Moog’s executive leadership.
This is a highly visible, global role requiring strategic expertise, commercial leadership, and the ability to influence across multiple cultures, customer communities, and Moog divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Growth: Provide strategic direction for global sales and marketing initiatives, shaping both near-term and long-term growth strategies that maximize revenue and profit.
- Global Sales Leadership: Lead global sales efforts through direct regional sales teams and a worldwide field sales network, including manufacturer reps and distributors.
- Business Development & Market Expansion: Drive business development efforts and go-to-market strategies across Power & Data Business Units, coordinating with Moog’s Space and Defense Divisions.
- Cross Functional & Executive Collaboration: Support Power & Data Division engagements with Moog’s executive team and board of directors; work closely with Division Marketing to shape and prioritize budgets, campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
- Industry & Regulatory Insight: Maintain expertise in U.S. and foreign trade compliance, FAR, FMS/DCS, DoW funding processes, and apply geopolitical, social, and economic awareness to shape market strategy and opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of business development experience, ideally within the defense industry.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex component and system architectures and identify opportunities for Moog’s scope of work.
- Proven capabilities in identifying and developing business opportunities, budget/forecast planning, and leading successful negotiations.
- Progressive leadership experience overseeing multisite and multicultural teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive level presentations.
- Familiarity with global trade compliance, acquisition frameworks, and government funding environments.

Salary
Salary Range Transparency: Blacksburg, VA $190,000.00–$260,000.00 Annually
Salary Range Disclosure
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
