Internal Community & Employee Engagement Coordinator
– New York City
Responsibilities
Facilitate and coordinate day-to-day tasks and processes for new charters of employee-led shared interest groups, events, contests, and activities through the Internal Community governance process.
Implement strategies and initiatives to improve employee engagement, drive culture and camaraderie, and build consistent employee experiences that align with Ares’ culture.
Track and monitor action items to increase employee engagement and provide timely progress updates.
Leverage market data, conduct surveys and focus groups, gather employee feedback, and organize events that promote team‑building and collaboration.
Develop and recognize programs that reward employee contributions.
Participate in end‑to‑end development and implementation of employee‑focused engagement groups and activities.
Support Internal Community groups by attending NY‑based onsite/offsite events and activities.
Collaborate with DEI, HR teams and Employee Resource Groups to understand regional and local employee engagement needs and provide effective solutions aligned with firm goals.
Ensure program deadlines are met with high quality while managing multiple projects.
Provide input for internal communications sent by Internal Community and employee‑led groups.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience : Minimum 3 years (Associate) or 5 years (Senior Associate) in employee engagement or human resources, or a related field; facilitating team‑building programs and events within mid‑to‑large enterprises or global firms; planning and executing projects; multitasking across competing priorities; driving results; facilitating group discussions; establishing collaborative relationships across departments.
Skills : Strong business acumen, consultative and critical‑thinking ability, analytical skills, excellent leadership, organizational, time‑management and communication skills (written, verbal, active listening); strong sense of ownership; passion for building a supportive culture.
General Requirements : Effective prioritization strategies; ability to work some nights and weekends periodically; participation in ad‑hoc projects from senior leadership; ability to perform occasional acquisition integrations.
Technical Proficiency : MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms, Zoom, Teams, Adobe, Smartsheet, and AI tools.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to Head of Internal Community.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range is $90,000 – $100,000, with the potential for a discretionary performance‑based bonus.
