Position
Complex Director - University Housing (Residence Life Coordinator II)
Department: University Housing, University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.
Employment Type: Regular (12‑month live‑in position, start mid‑July 2026).
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate a graduate Assistant Complex Director, undergraduate Resident Assistants, and clerical assistants.
- Manage room changes and occupancy functions; maintain accurate occupancy records.
- Assume responsibility for the student conduct process in the hall(s), meeting with students, assigning sanctions, and maintaining records.
- Manage early alert for academic success and retention; use assessment data to implement programs and coordinate academic interventions for at‑risk students.
- Collaborate with Learning Community office and manage any Residence Life learning community initiatives.
- Coordinate opening and closing procedures for the residence halls at the beginning/end of each semester and during holiday periods.
- Maintain contact with custodians and maintenance personnel; report damage, repairs, and replacements occurring within the halls.
- Participate in and enforce applicable safety rules and regulations, including required training and drills.
- Provide training and resources to develop programs; mentor Assistant Complex Director; advise Homecoming committee members.
- Make referral contacts for students with academic, personal, or other concerns; instruct a training course for new RAs.
- Utilize student development theories to assess needs, set goals, and evaluate programs.
- Assist in planning and producing the annual social justice program, Boxes & Walls.
- Participate in Residence Life administration; serve on committees and task forces; assist with financial management.
- Perform additional duties assigned by Assistant Directors, Associate Director, or Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or a related area.
- Previous residence hall experience strongly desired.

- Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Willingness and ability to actively participate in safety training and drills.
Benefits and Compensation
Annual salary: $43,888 (commensurate with education, experience, qualifications).
