Responsibilities

Work with faculty editors throughout the editorial, production, and promotional processes for Weber: The Contemporary West.

Oversee submissions for each category and assist editors in assigning submissions for reading during Fall semester.

Evaluate and compile selected submissions and communicate results to the editors.

Send out acceptances and contracts to contributors.

Oversee the editing of selected submissions and organize the publication schedule.

Assist with website design and oversee the publication of finalized submissions.

Meet regularly with the editors and assist in coordinating editorial interns.

Assist in promoting the publication and organize and facilitate the issue launch.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be enrolled in the Master of Arts in English program, and be a student in good standing through the Spring term of the academic year.

Candidates must possess excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, excellent communication skills, and basic computer skills in Office, Adobe, and the ability to learn Wordpress and other design software.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in journal editing and publishing.

Eligibility for federal Work Study grant.
