Position Summary
The E‑commerce Category Specialist is responsible for driving the online performance and growth of assigned product categories. This role involves optimizing the customer experience, managing product presentation and information, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to achieve sales targets and enhance profitability within the e‑commerce channel.
Compensation
Salary Range: $72,000 - $89,000*
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the manager to implement comprehensive e‑commerce category strategies aligned with overall business objectives and online sales targets.
Work with merchandising and buying teams to influence product assortment and productivity, ensuring merchandising follows best practices to deliver an intuitive and engaging shopping experience.
Collaborate with Digital Experience teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize site experience; maintain effective product categorization, filtering, and navigation.
Partner with ISU to implement changes while ensuring product information accuracy and consistency across all online touchpoints.
Track, analyze, and report on key category and brand performance metrics such as sales, conversion rates, average order value, traffic, and bounce rates.
Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies as needed.
Align online and offline strategies with buying/merchandising teams to ensure optimal product availability.
Implement website enhancements and resolve technical issues with the digital experience teams.
Field ad‑hoc requests, present findings, and proactively deliver recommendations to inform strategy.
Synthesize large data sets into actionable takeaways that drive action.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in category management, preferably within an e‑commerce environment.
Experience in retail buying, merchandising, or digital marketing is valuable.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, E‑commerce, or a related field.
Strong understanding of e‑commerce platforms, functionalities, and best practices.
Excellent analytical skills to interpret data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with content management systems (CMS) and product information management (PIM) systems.
Proficiency in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
