Operations Technician

The process technician controls equipment systems that process chemical substances into specified products. Responsibilities include:
Ensure plant equipment is properly lined up, controlled, and monitored for safe and efficient operations
Responsible for the operation of the production units, boilers and cooling towers, waste treatment unit, and product loading.
Perform minor maintenance and laboratory work
Perform equipment cleaning
Initiate work permits to ensure safety/efficiency of plant equipment
Active participation and compliance with site Total Safety Process
Understand and comply with good manufacturing practices to support quality and safety of animal feed (as part of FAMI-QS) and overall product quality (as part of ISO 9001).
Must be able to work in an industrial environment, which includes lifting 50 lbs., climbing to heights, work in confined spaces, and passing a physical/respirator fit test
Ability to serve on emergency response team/fire brigade
Ability to learn and qualify in multiple unit processes
Flexibility to work rotating 12 hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and call-outs
Education: High School diploma or GED required; Process Technology degree or certification highly recommended
Experience: 2-5 years experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment. Technician must have necessary qualifications to advance through the progression levels.

Good written, listening and verbal communication skills
Computer skills including basic word processing and spreadsheets
Personal attributes include: team player, self-directed learning, and flexibility with changing tasks and priorities
