Job Summary

12 News is looking for a full‑time Anchor/Multimedia Journalist to join our news team. The ideal candidate has great news sense, energy, a dynamic personality, and excels at anchoring a weekday morning newscast while also doing on‑air reporting. Strong communication skills on the air and in the newsroom are required, including the ability to manage breaking news situations. A creative vision for delivering a solid newscast is essential.
Responsibilities

Work with the producer, news director, and assignment desk to plan daily newscasts.
Exercise excellent news judgment and uphold journalism ethics.
Write, story, and report stories; build graphics and coordinate with control room and field crews.
Produce newscast rundowns and be willing to produce as needed.
Maintain skill in social media and online news production.
Organize and manage time effectively.
Shoot, edit, and go live for your own stories.
Demonstrate excellent live reporting skills, including ad‑libbing during breaking news.
Work a Monday‑Friday schedule with willingness to work longer hours and alternate days when necessary.
Qualifications

Bachelor's or master’s degree in journalism or related field.
A minimum of 2 years of on‑air television news reporting, anchoring, and producing experience (training available for suitable candidates).
Basic experience with newsroom computer systems such as ENPS is preferred.
Adherence to AP Style for digital platforms and broadcast writing for television.
Ability to operate field camera, editing, and lighting equipment.
Capability to lift/carry equipment ranging from 35–50 lbs.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Professional representation of the station in the community, newsroom, and on social media.
Desire to succeed, reflect on work, and apply feedback.
