Job Summary

Responsible for website maintenance, digital media solutions, and event technical support for the Turbomachinery Laboratory’s symposia and related activities.
Responsibilities

Complete website updates and performance monitoring for the Turbomachinery Lab’s three sites.
Ensure compliance, accessibility, and maintenance of the laboratory’s web properties.
Provide primary technical support for website functions, publications, and availability.
Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager and Turbo Lab Communications to create and manage web pages.
Maximize the functionality of laboratory sites and optimize content distribution for symposia proceedings.
Lead the search, procurement, and programming of reliable distribution methods for proceedings and exclusive groups.
Coordinate with TAMU Library Services for loading public proceedings through Oaktrust.
Format and transfer distributed data, ensuring compliance with Turbo Lab guidelines.
Maintain and improve the proceedings repository.
Develop and optimize Turbo Lab’s registration and program submission software, including the Aventri event platform.
Provide technical support and enhancement advice for registration and event platforms.
Assist in building and testing a mobile app for symposia.
Publish and monitor future event content, ensuring accessibility for users.
Serve as the primary contact for on‑site registration and technical support at annual Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia.
Manage vendor relations and badge printing contracting in coordination with Turbo Lab staff.
Support IT compliance, audit tickets, and equipment inventory for Turbo Lab staff.
Assist the lab in equipment improvements and inventory tracking.
Provide general support for the laboratory’s activities beyond the main symposia throughout the calendar year.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in website design, software systems operation/optimization, and programming.
Familiarity with WordPress site management and technical tasks.
Strong technological aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and optimize event software.
Proficiency in coding, building pages for electronic distribution, and search‑engine optimization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Skills in Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, mobile app usage, repository maintenance, and compliance with accessibility standards.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate with personnel at all levels.
Willingness to learn new systems and deepen knowledge of software capabilities.
Preferred Education

Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, software systems optimization, web design, coding, data analysis, or related fields.
Preferred Experience

Managing WordPress sites and supporting new software learning.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Technological proficiency, including troubleshooting and training.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, graphic skills, mobile app usage, and repository distribution.
Knowledge of Microsoft365 or other TAMU systems and communication systems.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal communication.
About the Turbomachinery Laboratory

The Turbomachinery Laboratory (Turbo Lab) conducts fundamental and applied research in Rotordynamics and Mechanical Systems, Thermal Fluids and Combustion, and Computational and Modeling Design. The lab hosts the annual Turbomachinery and Pump Symposia (TPS) in Houston, Texas, and the biennial Asia Turbomachinery and Pump Symposium (ATPS) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
