Music Teacher Summary: The Music Teacher is responsible for the instruction of music content in a classroom setting within grade levels K-12. Responsibilities: Specific duties and responsibilities include designing and implementing appropriate music instruction, creating a positive educational climate, delivering relevant and rigorous music lessons, utilizing various teaching practices, observing and evaluating student performance, managing student behavior, communicating with parents, maintaining health and safety, securing confidential records, maintaining certifications, and performing other assigned duties. Competencies: The job requires strong communication skills, job knowledge, judgment, project management, and planning & organization abilities. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree, degree or formal training in music, Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Music, language skills, mathematical skills, reasoning ability, and computer skills are required.
