Job Summary / Description

KBTX is looking for an innovative morning newscast producer to join our award‑winning team. We’re looking for a producer who lives for urgent, impactful coverage of what’s new, now, and next, and excels in breaking news and weather situations. As the Brazos Valley’s dominant #1 news station, you’ll have the largest and latest resources to create a show that resonates with viewers and a team of exceptional journalists committed to our community.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Research, write, and edit daily content for television and web platforms.

Produce a quality, accurate show that resonates with key demographics.

Identify the day’s most important stories and source materials relevant to the audience.

Work with management and staff to generate stories and content.

Meet daily deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Plan and time the show to meet ratings goals.

Qualifications / Requirements

Good work ethic, strong people skills, and ability to be a team player with a professional attitude at all times.

Availability to work weekends and occasional holiday work.

At least two years of experience in a TV newsroom, and a college degree in broadcast journalism or a related field (preferred).

Experience with ENPS, Grass Valley EDIUS, or BitCentral Oasis is a big plus.
