Marketing/Communications Specialist, Engineering, Center for Information and Systems Engineering
This role is at the Boston University Center for Information & Systems Engineering (CISE) and is responsible for elevating the Center's digital presence, research visibility, and community engagement. The position ensures CISE’s digital footprint reflects its core mission, cutting‑edge interdisciplinary research, and values. The Marketing & Communications Specialist manages all core communication channels‑including email marketing, social media, and web content—while collaborating with CISE management, faculty, academic partners, and BU Marketing & Communications (MarCom) to ensure brand alignment, data accuracy, and institutional impact.

Key responsibilities include:

Executing CISE’s branding and outreach strategy across all public‑facing platforms.

Developing and managing content for social media channels and producing engaging multimedia content and researcher spotlights to highlight faculty and student achievements.

Overseeing the maintenance and optimization of the CISE website (WordPress), ensuring engaging content, accurate faculty directories, optimal SEO performance, and a seamless user experience.

Curation and distribution of the Center’s email newsletters and event promotions while maintaining clean, organized contact databases.

Providing robust organizational and marketing support for CISE-sponsored seminars, workshops, and major conferences.

Required skills:

Bachelor’s degree required.

3–5 years of relevant work experience.

Strong communication, organizational, people‑facing skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Position type: Part‑time.

Job location: Boston, MA.

Salary: $35.00 – $35.00.
