Overview
The Content Strategist and Writer is responsible for shaping, producing, and scaling high-impact written content that supports brand marketing, communications, and business objectives. This role is primarily focused on content writing and content strategy, ensuring a consistent, compelling brand voice across channels and audiences. The role also brings strong public relations sensibility, supporting earned media, thought leadership, executive messaging, and external communications. This position plays a key role in designing, training, and managing AI-powered content agents to increase efficiency, scale, and consistency in brand storytelling. It serves as a bridge between subject matter experts, marketing, PR, and digital teams—translating complex ideas into clear, accessible, and audience-focused narratives while leveraging both human and AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
Lead the creation of high-quality written, owned content across platforms, including long‑form articles, blog content, campaign messaging, thought leadership, executive content, marketing assets, and producing messaging frameworks that inform integrated marketing campaigns.
Translate complex or technical subject matter into clear, engaging, and accessible narratives for both expert and non‑expert audiences.
Collaborate with communications and PR partners to ensure content aligns with brand positioning and reputational goals.
Design, build, and manage AI‑powered content agents to support content creation, iteration, personalization, and brand consistency.
Continuously evaluate AI content performance, accuracy, and tone, refining systems based on feedback and results.
Manage priorities across multiple projects, balancing strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day content needs.
Solicit feedback about communications products from key stakeholders and address such feedback while maintaining project timelines.
Organize, plan, and prioritize work—collaborate closely with the Brand and Reputation team and Strategic Communications team.
Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function.
Qualifications
Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Strong content strategy expertise with demonstrated experience producing impactful written assets across multiple channels.
High proficiency with digital tools and content platforms; comfort adopting and managing emerging technologies, including AI tools.
Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to brand consistency.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver measurable outcomes.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in education‑related industries—previous experience or demonstrated understanding of key concepts in education and assessment within 1 year of hire.
Ability to deliver measurable and beneficial results on the job that are a product of critical thinking.
Capable of dealing with difficult situations; able to find the means to address issues, solve problems, develop solutions, and meet goals that are not readily available or affordable.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail; proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner effectively with senior leaders, internal teams, and external agencies.
Proactive communicator who overcommunicates, flags risks early, and follows through consistently.
Familiarity with media monitoring platforms, social media tools, and content analytics.
Experience in public relations: media relations experience, pitch stories, manage reporter relationships, and execute outreach; support executive communications including interview prep, briefings, and messaging; operating in high‑stakes environments.
Ability to independently plan and execute PR campaigns aligned to business, brand, and mission objectives; contribute to integrated campaigns across PR, content, social, and brand marketing.
Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats: press releases, media pitches, executive quotes and remarks, thought leadership articles, talking points and backgrounders; adapt tone and messaging for multiple audiences.
Prior experience in education, assessment, policy, workforce, or mission‑driven organizations strongly preferred; ability to translate complex or technical topics into clear, compelling narratives.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field is required.

Employment Details
Contract position based out of Princeton, NJ. Fully remote.
Pay range: $55.00 – $77.00 per hour.
