Plans and leads music for parish liturgies, directing smaller ensembles or specific Mass groups under general supervision.
Responsibilities
- Plans, prepares and leads music for parish liturgies and special events, such as weddings, funerals, etc.
- Directs choirs, trains cantors, plans cantor & accompanist schedule.
- Selects music consistent with the liturgical calendar.
- Coordinates with clergy in all aspects of the job.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music or equivalent experience required.
- Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and sacred music.
- Proficient in choral direction and keyboard or vocal performance. Skills in organ preferred.
