N99734 SENIOR EVENT TECHNICIAN
JOBSUMMARY
Thisposition will provide senior-level event and A/V support to the Department ofAuxiliary Services. The Senior Event Technician will also act as the CampusEvents Manager in their absence. The primary responsibilities are toefficiently lead the set-up and breakdown of events, maintenance of equipment,inventory process, and audio/visual processes and provide quality customer serviceexperiences.
MAJOR DUTIES Lead the orchestration of event set-ups and breakdowns for Auxiliary Services scheduled events.
Provide advanced level A/V troubleshooting assistance to NSU internal and external stakeholders.
Manage equipment inventory, including but not limited to chairs, tables, mics, podiums, coolers, A/V equipment, staging, and linen.
Ensure timely and accurate event set-up.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, faculty and external clients.
Coordinate transportation of event equipment to various locations on NSU campuses.
Lock and unlock meeting spaces as scheduled.
General light cleaning that includes but is not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and trash removal.
Event equipment assembly and maintenance.
Provide recommendations for A/V equipment acquisition and replacement.
Meet with current and potential clients regarding A/V and other event setup needs.
Coordinate event needs with the Campus Events Manager and Assistant Director of Conferences and Events.
Effectively communicate maintenance and custodial issues to Facilities Management and follow through to ensure timely completion.
Follows policies and procedures related to emergency and risk management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to maintain regular attendance.

SUPERVISORYCONTROLS The Campus Events Manager assigns work in terms of generalinstruction, requiring some judgment and interpretation. The supervisorreviews work through spot checks as work is being completed.
GUIDELINES Guidelines include university policies and procedures,OSHA rules, technical guidelines, and safety procedures. These guidelinesrequire judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK The work consists of varied event support duties. The variety of functions to be completed contributes to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to assist in event set-up and breakdown facilitation.
CONTACTS Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, community and business leaders, vendors, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to resolve problems and to provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while standing or walking and often includes bending, crouching, reaching or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects over 25 lbs and will sometimes be climbing ladders. The position utilizes tools or equipment requiring dexterity. The position requires the ability to distinguish shades of color.
The work is typically performed in a stockroom and may include exposure to dust, dirt and grease. Work may also be performed outdoors and occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENTRESPONSIBILITY
Functions as departmental supervisor in the absence of the CampusEvents Manager to include but not be limited to the supervision of student buildingworkers and the Event Technician.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Experience equaling a minimum of 5 years in the major job duties of the position plus completion of an apprenticeship/internship or technical school training. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with event orchestration including A/V setup
Annual salary $34,356.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
