Director of Sales
The Director of Sales leads the resort sales efforts and a team of seasoned Group Sales Managers. Serving as the inspirational leader, the DOS will lead the sales department in all facets. Key areas of emphasis include people leadership skills, maximizing hotel revenues, marketing, sales development and strategic planning. This role reports to the Commercial Director.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee group strategy and direct the group sales team at Four Seasons Resort Orlando.
- Generate awareness for the resort through direct phone sales, tradeshows and networking groups.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to uncover, solicit and confirm business required to meet budgeted property goals.
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to effectively manage all sales segments and channels; utilize on‑property sales resources and leverage property sales engines to deliver results.
- Strategically evaluate and make decisions based on data, identify changing market conditions and introduce appropriate changes in sales strategy.
- Participate in regular forecast preparation.
- Assist in the development of the annual commercial plan, ensuring projects are executed for all market areas as stated in the hotel commercial plan with emphasis on increasing sales and profitability.
- Support the Commercial Director in achieving overall business objectives and formulating strategies to ensure business attainment.
- Demonstrate ability to optimize revenue performance through data‑driven strategy, pricing and analysis.
- Proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external key stakeholder groups. Work with operations department heads to ensure sales strategies are aligned with the overall hotel plan.
- Create and execute account plans for assigned market territory to ensure maximum revenue and budgeted targets are achieved.
- Conduct sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections and entertainment in the assigned territory.
- Effectively manage communication with Four Seasons Sales Offices, maintaining regular dialogue.
- Translate strategy into specific business actions and individual accountabilities that achieve results.
- Assign clear accountability to team members and monitor implementation to assure success and accountability for results.
- Set annual goals for roles with sales incentive across segments, including catering.
What You Bring
- A high degree of independent judgement and discretion on decision making and managing confidential property information.
- A minimum of five years of Luxury Hotel Group Sales experience and at least two years in a leadership role.
- College Degree Graduate (4 years or equivalent).
- Strong and effective interpersonal skills, outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Proven relationships in the luxury industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong sense of quality and a creative mindset.
- A self‑starter that can multi‑task and prioritize.
- Travel, as needed and generally no more than 10% of the time.
