Operations Manager
The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager in fulfilling daily operations including but not limited to providing technical management of fleet maintenance and support activities such as planning, staffing, monitoring, and analyzing maintenance requirements, schedules, and contract compliance. The position is based in Bel Air, Maryland, supporting Harford County Government.

Compensation
Competitive compensation package: minimum

$59,000

annually – maximum

$73,000

annually.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily activities of operators and coordinate with Shop Supervisor, Service Writers, Technicians in Charge, Automotive Technicians, Emergency Vehicle Technicians, and Heavy Truck and Equipment Technicians.

Perform maintenance management functions as directed by contract language.

Make hiring decisions for authorized roles; evaluate staff performance.

Work directly with fleet management to respond to maintenance requirements.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Three or more years of relevant supervisory experience required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and relevant database programs.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to organize work efficiently with strong attention to detail.

Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.

Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

Physical Requirements

Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on possible sloped or uneven surfaces.

Push and pull objects up to XX pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material up to 50 lbs. unaided or with assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to ground‑level files or equipment.

Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
