Regional Account Manager, Rare Neurology, Fort Worth North
Manages and develops long-term relationships with assigned physicians, extended prescribers, and other customers in the assigned territory. Represents the assigned Alexion brands and their approved indications; provides disease and product education to external customers such as physicians, nurses, etc. to help patients.
Responsibilities
Consistently achieve or exceed sales objectives in assigned territory while maintaining highest level of organizational ethics and compliance.
Create, maintain, and execute strategic account‑specific business plans reflecting the brand plan and deep understanding of local market forces.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including Institutional Account Manager(s), TLL(s), SAL(s), MSL(s), FRM(s), Market Access, Diagnostics, and other Enterprise partners.
Handle customer questions and objections consistently with product indications and sales training methodology, including ability to compliantly triage inquiries to appropriate partners.
Develop and maintain in‑depth disease and therapeutic clinical and scientific knowledge.
Demonstrate high competence in educating on the disease’s diagnostic approach to facilitate effective patient diagnosis.
Navigate complex hospital settings (academic and community) to access targeted HCP and key stakeholders.
Appropriately utilize all marketing tools and resources, including PowerPoint presentations, to advance the selling process across all customer stakeholders.
Lead the implementation of our patient‑centric partnership model which will include physicians, staff, clinics, and applicable hospitals.
Execute local disease education and promotional programs for the therapeutics area.
Provide a high level of product expertise and customer service to all targeted accounts and stakeholders.
Track activities and submit accurate, on‑time sales activity reports.
Demonstrate effective time management and prioritization skills; a self‑starter.
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Proven documented track record of delivering consistent "Top-tier" sales results.
5 years of pharmaceutical sales or equivalent experience (e.g., biotech or medical device).
Neurology experience strongly preferred, especially building relationships with physicians treating neuromuscular disorders in high‑complexity institutions, community hospitals, satellite sites, and private practices.
Where appropriate, building relationships with healthcare professionals in locations that administer infused therapies and/or apheresis for immunological disorders.
Success educating physicians about complex diseases diagnosed mainly through observation/exclusion rather than simple diagnostic tests.
Experience with diverse patient disease profiles that do not lend themselves to simple segmentation and categorization for treatment decisions.
Ability to build and/or strengthen lasting relationships with providers in physician practices and hospitals where access may be challenging.
Manage territory budget and adhere to Alexion code of ethics and compliance.
Willingness to travel within territory, including frequent overnight and weekend travel.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
General field‑based work: ability to travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane; work comfortably in a clinical setting; use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; problem solve; engage in complex, non‑linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s in Life Sciences or an MBA.
Bio/pharma, neurology, and/or ophthalmology experience.
Experience navigating and working with large hospital systems, IDNs, and academic teaching hospitals.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $152,636 - $228,954. Positions offer eligibility for various incentives—short‑term incentive bonuses, equity‑based awards for salaried roles, and commissions for sales roles. Benefits include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (vacation, holiday, and leave), and health, dental, and vision coverage per applicable plans.
