PR and Media Relations Contractor (part time)

Current clients include companies in fintech, health tech, cybersecurity, and data governance.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain media lists
Draft media pitches and outreach emails
Conduct reporter outreach and follow-up
Identify newsjacking and thought leadership opportunities
Coordinate interviews and media briefings
Assist with awards, speaking opportunities, and contributed content placements
Support broader PR and communications initiatives as needed

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, or agency communications
Experience working with B2B technology clients
Strong writing and editing skills
Experience pitching business, technology, trade, and industry media
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Familiarity with cybersecurity, fintech, health tech, SaaS, cloud, AI, or enterprise technology is a plus

Location Chicago-area candidates preferred, though exceptional remote candidates will be considered.

Compensation This is a part-time contractor role.

Compensation will be based on experience and scope of work. We anticipate a monthly engagement in the range of approximately $2,500-$3,000, though we are open to discussing hourly or retainer-based arrangements. xsgimln This is likely a 20-40 hour / month engagement, depending on level of experience.
