Technical Designer -Jewelry/ Hardware

Our client, a fashion brand, is seeking a

Technical Designer

to join their Jewelry/ Hardware team on a contract basis in their New York office.

Responsibilities:
Execute technical specifications for hardware development
Complete and update tech packs for factory hand off
Thoroughly review all vendor technical specs and apply clear and concise feedback
CAD support through Illustrator and Rhino renderings based on conceptual direction
Trouble shoot and provide technical guidance to hardware Design Team
Organized file saving processes for designs easy reference of materials like specs, vendor technical designs and 3D files.
Assist in communication between PD and design for hardware
Partner very closely with the Design & Product Development teams
Requirements:
BA/BS/BFA degree or equivalent life experience
Minimum 5-7 years in Technical Design within assigned category
Experience with PLM (Centric), or other Product Management system
Proficient in Rhino 3D, Sub D, Z-Brush and Adobe Illustrator
Strong taste level and design aesthetic
Strong organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Able to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment
