Future Climate Collective empowers teens on climate and gives the next generation the tools to create a better future. We refuse to wait on the sidelines. We build the grassroots infrastructure that allows youth‑led ideas to turn into tangible local action in schools, city councils, and neighborhoods.

Following our recent Showcase, we are raising a $10,000 summer fund to launch three major initiatives: our Impact Program at 8+ Sites, the FCC Climathon, and our upcoming Teen Work Day.

The Role & The Team

We are seeking a creative, strategic Volunteer Public Relations (PR) Director to amplify our voice and get our youth‑led stories the spotlight they deserve. You will own our media outreach, press strategy, and external narrative, ensuring the incredible impact of our programs is widely recognized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Media Strategy: Develop and execute PR campaigns to highlight our 8+ Impact Program sites, the annual Climathon, and Teen Work Day.
  • Press Outreach: Write and distribute compelling press releases, pitch local and national media outlets, and secure coverage for our youth leaders.
  • Storytelling & Messaging: Help shape our external narrative, ensuring our mission of youth empowerment resonates across different audiences and media channels.
  • Crisis & Reputational Management: Act as a strategic advisor on public communications to protect and enhance the collective’s brand integrity.

Who You Are

  • A Media Savvy Storyteller: You know what makes a story newsworthy and have experience pitching media, writing press releases, or managing public campaigns.
  • Youth‑Empowerment Advocate: You are passionate about using the power of PR to amplify the voices of the next generation.
  • Experienced: Background in public relations, communications, journalism, or marketing (professional or extensive volunteer experience).
