Position Overview
Advertising/Posting Title Communications Professional Posting Summary: Coordination of outreach and development and implementation of marketing plan with other outreach and marketing staff across the School of the Arts. Oversee the research, planning, implementation, and analysis of strategies related to the production season for the university Theatre and Dance program in the School of the Arts. Oversee audience development, marketing materials, subscriptions, box office student personnel, and managing front of house for the main stage theatre and dance season that includes up to six productions each year. Partner with community organizations and university entities to provide information and increase awareness of UVM Theatre and Dance productions.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and implement marketing plans for the university’s theatre and dance season.

Conduct research, planning, and analysis of audience development strategies.

Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, subscriptions, and front‑of‑house operations.

Manage student personnel and front‑of‑house staff for main stage productions.

Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and university entities.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus at least three years of experience in marketing and communications, with preference for experience in the arts, arts administration or related field. Strong graphic design sensibilities; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work as part of a team; proficiency with design and marketing tools, and demonstrated skills in social media and website content management.

Desirable Qualifications
Desirable to have a Bachelor’s degree in the arts, marketing, communications, arts administration, or related field. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and facility with common online marketing and social media platforms and ability to quickly learn emerging technologies; ability to self‑direct and complete tasks without constant oversight.

Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Pay Range: $57,000 - $62,000. FLSA Exempt. Union position (UVMSU). Probationary period may be required. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. Background check required.
