Job Summary
The Studio Photographer role requires a versatile skill set to support our varied content priorities. This position requires innate knowledge of studio lighting, photo + video equipment and the associated software, such as Capture One, Adobe Creative Suite, etc., as well as a thorough understanding of the entire Google suite. In addition to photo/video expertise, the Photographer must also have a strong eye for color, design, and composition so they can contribute to the propping component needed for some shoots. They must be able to translate creative briefs and pre‑production calls into polished, on‑brand imagery. The Studio Photographer is responsible for photo creation from concept to completion. They combine strong technical ability with creative problem‑solving to deliver high‑quality images that meet brand and client expectations. This position requires frequent collaboration with art directors, stylists, and producers, as well as the ability to work independently on complex shoots. As the Content Studios increases video creation, the Photographer will also be expected to work creating video content as needed. For select shoots, the Photographer will be expected to oversee propping to style and execute the vision of our brand partners. This position is a fully in‑office role due to the nature of the work being done.

Essential Job Functions
Weight %: Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

70%: Photograph tabletop, product, food, models, and interior set‑ups with studio lighting, working with (and without) stylists to bring products and concepts to life across digital and print channels.

15%: Pull props and prop style on set for various People Inc. brands and advertising partners.

10%: Collaborate to efficiently capture motion assets as requested.

5%: Edit and upload selects, general admin, production meetings.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in photography, Design, fine arts, or other creative education preferred, can be waived depending on experience.

Experience

Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a photographer in a studio setting, working for editorial and/or advertising brands with basic prop styling experience.

Passionate about Photography.

Well‑versed in Photoshop, Capture One, extensive knowledge of studio equipment.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain accurate financial records and file expense reports.

Travel Required (Approximate)

5%: Local travel monthly; overnight travel rarely.

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00. The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short‑ and long‑term incentives.
