Summary / Objective
The Multimedia Reporter Journalist will be responsible for presenting accurate, well‑written, well‑documented relevant stories.

Essential Functions

Cover news events, write stories, identify stories and prepare for broadcast.

Research, check for accuracy, generate engaging and relevant story ideas.

Travel to and report from various locations, gathering video and audio as requested.

Film stories in the field, individually or with other videographers.

Edit raw footage and add lower‑third graphics to create a news package following Bronxnet guidelines and broadcast standards.

Upload raw footage to Bronxnet Shared Drives.

Upload finished master files to Programming and YT shared folders.

Use Trello for project management.

Use Google Suite.

Use Adobe Premiere Pro or FCPX for editing.

Use Frameio for video collaboration.

Accept story assignments and pitch new story ideas.

Adhere to Bronxnet Field Production Policy.

Help prepare students and aspiring journalists for careers in media as part of Bronxnet’s educational mission.

Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Creative Services, Production Manager and/or Production Coordinator.

Required Education and Experience

College degree.

Two years of field experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative team environment.

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects efficiently.

Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.

Excellent judgment, strong organizational and decision‑making skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

Knowledge of the Bronx a plus.
