About The Role
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is seeking a Digital Content Specialist for the department of Student Engagement. The Digital Content Specialist develops creative digital content that promotes Student Activities programs, events, and initiatives. Through graphic design, social media management, and campus collaboration, this position helps engage students and support the department’s marketing and communication goals and is housed within Student Engagement in the division of Student Affairs at UAA.
Responsibilities
Create and manage digital content across platforms to promote Student Activities programs, events, and initiatives.
Use graphic design and video editing tools to produce engaging visuals.
Manage social media accounts, ensuring consistent brand voice and timely posting.
Collaborate with campus partners to coordinate content and marketing efforts.
Analyze engagement metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
Ensure accessibility standards and compliance with college policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related field and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Strong creativity, organization, and communication skills.
Experience creating digital content for organizations, brands, or projects.
Proficiency with graphic design and video editing tools.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Attention to detail, familiarity with accessibility standards, analytics, and campus collaboration skills.
Background in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full‑time, term‑funded, non‑exempt staff position with a competitive salary and the full UA employee benefits package, including retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays, tuition waivers, and medical, dental, and vision coverage.
New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
