Job Summary : The Communications Manager is responsible for managing internal communication channels and content that support employee engagement, operational clarity, and organizational alignment. This role oversees day‑to‑day management of ORNL Federal Credit Union's intranet and internal communication platforms, ensuring content is organized, accurate, timely, and accessible.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Internal Communications & Intranet Management: Manage structure, organization, and content publishing of internal communication platforms, including the intranet (SharePoint). Ensure content is current, accurate, well‑organized, and aligned with standards and governance.
Content Coordination & Publishing: Coordinate with leaders and subject matter experts to receive, edit, publish, and maintain internal communications content. Determine placement, format, and timing of content.
Platform & Document Management Support: Maintain understanding of SharePoint, page layouts, permissions, and document storage practices. Support content organization, version control, and navigation.
Governance, Standards, & Quality Assurance: Support internal communication standards, templates, and governance. Review content for clarity, consistency, and usability before publication.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Monitor usage, engagement, and feedback of internal communication platforms. Compile analytics and insights to support continuous improvement.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Five or more years of experience in communications, internal communications, or related field.
Experience managing or supporting an intranet or internal communication platform.
Experience with SharePoint content/document management systems.
Experience supporting or executing work requiring brand representation, messaging alignment, tone, visual identity, and employee experience.
Experience working in a cross‑functional environment, supporting multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Business, Information Management, Human Resources, or related field.
Preferred: certification or training in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Content Management, or Information Architecture.
