Job Overview
Video Production Intern – Videographer/Editor (University Television-0912). The role will be responsible for shooting and editing single camera video productions and operating studio and remote television cameras. The position will perform simpler styles of single camera productions without direction and will shoot more complex single camera productions with direct supervision; opportunities to produce your own segments may arise. Primary responsibilities are broadcast‑based productions, with possible involvement in 360 video productions.

Responsibilities

Shoot and edit single‑camera video productions for broadcast, web, and 360 media.

Operate studio and remote television cameras according to production requirements.

Assist with lighting, audio equipment, and graphics integration during live and recorded broadcasts.

Produce additional segments independently when opportunity arises.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in broadcasting or related field plus one year’s experience capturing video and audio in the field and editing with non‑linear computer software.

Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Working knowledge of a cross‑section of production tools including television cameras, non‑linear editing systems, lighting, audio equipment, and graphics.

Knowledge of multiple video formats and a range of production techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in broadcasting or a related field plus three years’ experience in single‑camera EFP shooting and editing for broadcast, web, and 360 productions, and/or multi‑camera studio/remote production.

Proficiency with Avid Media Composer editing software, advanced lighting techniques, and 360 capture and editing.

Knowledge of production equipment such as DSLR cameras, drones, 360 VR cameras, camera sliders, gimbals, jibs, and EFP lights.

Additional Requirements

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required; subject to DOT approved pre‑employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.

Criminal history background check required; no open issues.

Pre‑placement driving record review not required.

Salary
Posted salary $21.224 per hour (minimum).
