Aircraft Technician
This role focuses on performing aircraft modifications and heavy maintenance, including C and D checks and calendar checks, on Saab 340 and Embraer 120 turboprop aircraft. You will apply your hands-on aircraft or mechanical experience to ensure safe, reliable operations while working as part of a professional maintenance team in a hangar environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform heavy maintenance activities, including C and D checks and calendar checks, on Saab 340 and Embraer 120 turboprop aircraft.
Carry out aircraft modifications in accordance with approved maintenance manuals and company procedures.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair airframe, powerplant, and related aircraft systems to ensure airworthiness.
Use technical documentation, maintenance records, and work orders to accurately complete assigned tasks and document all work performed.
Collaborate with other technicians, sheet metal specialists, and avionics personnel to complete maintenance projects efficiently and safely.
Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while working in and around aircraft and maintenance equipment.
Identify and report any discrepancies, defects, or potential issues to appropriate personnel for resolution.
Support maintenance activities on regional-size aircraft and assist with turboprop platforms as required.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition.
Participate in interviews and evaluations by clearly and confidently communicating your experience, qualifications, and approach to maintenance work.
Essential Skills:
At least 1 year of hands-on aircraft experience or strong mechanical experience in a related field.
Experience performing aircraft maintenance tasks such as inspections, repairs, and modifications.
Ability to work on turboprop aircraft platforms, including Saab 340 and Embraer 120, or similar regional-size aircraft.
Understanding of airframe and powerplant systems and basic aircraft maintenance practices.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, maintenance documents, and work instructions.
Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools and maintenance equipment.
Capability to work safely in a hangar environment and adhere to maintenance and safety procedures.
Effective communication skills and the ability to present qualifications confidently during interviews.
A&P License is ideal but not required; candidates without an A&P must demonstrate a strong mechanical experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
A&P License, Airframe License, or Powerplant mechanic experience.
Experience with turboprop aircraft, particularly Saab 340 and Embraer 120; experience with Embraer, CRJ, or ERJ platforms is beneficial.
Sheet metal experience, including structural repairs and modifications, is a plus.
Avionics experience or exposure to aircraft electrical and electronic systems is a plus.
Experience working on regional-size aircraft in a maintenance or modification environment.
Recently acquired A&P License or active progress toward obtaining an A&P License.
Stable employment history with minimal unexplained gaps is preferred.
Professional demeanor, strong first impression, and the ability to demonstrate preparedness and confidence in interviews.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy hangar setting.

Work Environment:
This position is based in an aircraft maintenance hangar in Springfield, MO. You will work directly on Saab 340 and Embraer 120 turboprop aircraft, as well as other regional-size platforms, using standard and specialized aircraft maintenance tools and equipment. The setting is a hands-on, shop-floor environment where you will be around active aircraft operations, maintenance stands, and support equipment. Work hours may vary based on maintenance schedules and project demands, and you can expect a collaborative team atmosphere focused on safety, quality, and timely completion of heavy maintenance and modification projects.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, MO.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
