Job Description
Position Purpose and Summary
Directs and manages multi‑state hotel operations (including PA, MD, FL, NJ, etc.), to assure continual improvement in guest service, quality control, associate experience, operational soundness, innovation and financial performance.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, with four years of experience managing property level and multi‑property level hotels, or the equivalent combination of the two.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
Thorough knowledge of the market, competition, and demand generators for each property within the region.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for providing information to guests, vendors, senior management and staff.
Strong problem‑solving, time‑management, conflict‑management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skills.
Environmental Job Requirements
Extensive travel required.
Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required, including close vision.
Major / Key Job Duties
Ensures property managers drive Company initiatives such as GREAT, REACH, DANCE, DRIVE, FRESH, Making it Right, Stop the Leaks and SafeWATCH.
Demonstrates and promotes a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests and associates in accordance with ESA Shared Values.
Coordinates with Operations Management, Sales, and Marketing to plan sales efforts, sales blitzes and targeted advertising; develops brand awareness and forwards leads to other properties for follow‑up.
Monitors financial performance daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly; analyzes P&L statements; verifies accurate financial representation on monthly Variance Letters; reviews collection of guest balances, direct bill receivables, vendor commission payments, and issuance of refund checks; reviews labor standards weekly; works with management on problem areas to improve efficiency.
Recruits, hires, trains, motivates and develops team members to assure adherence to standards.
Conducts coaching and counseling sessions with managers; performs mid‑year and annual performance appraisals.
Responsible for sales and rate strategies in the region, working with the sales and revenue management team; provides direction regarding implementation of revenue, sales, and service plans to maximize results.
Conducts site audits and inspections to ensure interior and exterior of physical hotel exemplify quality and safety standards.
On a monthly basis, utilizes the Site Visit Summary to communicate with property management staff, set improvement goals, celebrate successes and ensure quality standards are met in the KRA's.
Builds solid client relationships in the region with General Managers and staff at each assigned hotel.
Monitors and identifies needed changes to existing tactical and strategic plans for the hotels.
Other Duties
Responds to guest issues and concerns in a timely fashion to ensure satisfaction.
Oversees maintenance and renovations at regional properties to ensure physical assets of the company are kept clean, safe and up to date.
Sets professional and property level goals with District Managers.
