WTVO/WQRF and MyStateline.com are seeking the nextdigitalcontentwizard to join our team. Our audience growth has been overwhelming, and we need more people to generate thecontentrequired. Candidates for this position need to havesuperior writing and video skills. Video editing,livestreaming softwareandsocial media management are also critical tools.

TheDigitalProducerleads the transition from broadcast-focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms. Your goal is to work as part of adigitalteam to increase traffic to MyStateline.com. You will write news stories, record and edit video, and share ourcontenton various social platforms. As our website evolves, so will your duties to help grow the site. We are looking fora teammate who is eager to confirmfacts and report the news in a way that resonates with thereaders.News doesn’t stop andneither does ourdigitalcontent. We provide 24/7contentto our readers and weare looking for someone who hasflexible hours.

With the launch of our new MyStateline+ streaming app, you will be tasked with creating various elements for original content as well as producing shows that will be watched by our growing audience on Smart TVs and mobile devices.

CreatingengagingcontentforFacebook,Twitter, and other social media platforms

Use our Social Media and Website to build and reinforce brand recognition and drive viewers to television

Finds new ways to use Social Media and our website to engage with viewers , such as graphics and video reels.

WritesstoriesforMyStateline.comandotherdigitalplatforms

Reviews copy and will correct errors incontent, grammar, and punctuation, following AP style and formatting guidelines

Determines a story’s emphasis, length, and format, and organizes material accordingly

Research and analyze background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information

Gathers information about events through research, interviews, experience orattendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social orother functions

Shootsandeditscontentthatmay also be used in newscasts

Produces reports for all platforms

Ensuresthatallcontentmeetscompanystandards for journalistic integrity and production quality

Buildsandcalendarsdigitalcampaignstopromote local shows and specials.

Performs other duties as assignedby your manager(s).

Requirements & Skills:

Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred

Proficiency in Associated Press style writing, vMix, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere , and Basic HTML preferred

Maintain a positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments

Responds positively to feedback

Compensation:
$15 – $16 per hour – commensurate with applicant’s experience and skill level
