Job Summary
Are you a digital‑first storyteller who thrives when the "Live" light turns on? Do you know how to stop the scroll with a killer hook and turn breaking news into must‑watch content across every screen? We’re looking for a Streaming Anchor / Digital & Social Content Creator to lead the charge from our state‑of‑the‑art Streaming Studio at KOLN 10/11 in Lincoln.

Responsibilities

Anchor live coverage: Lead breaking and developing news across all streaming platforms from our Alert Center with urgency and authority.

Create platform‑specific content: Design and produce high‑energy content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, including those quick‑paced vertical videos that grab attention.

Pivot with the news: Move fast as stories evolve, adjusting your coverage style and tone to match the platform and the gravity of the moment.

Collaborate across the newsroom: Partner with the assignment desk, reporters, and the digital team to ensure our coverage extends far beyond the traditional TV screen.

Own the digital space: Experiment with new formats and storytelling techniques to keep our audience engaged and informed in real‑time.

Qualifications

Confident on‑camera presence: calm, credible, and reliable under the pressure of breaking news.

Digital‑first mindset: live and breathe social media and understand exactly what works on each platform (and why).

Sharp news judgment: prioritize stories in real‑time and know what matters most to our community.

Strong production chops: excellent writing and video editing skills, with a focus on speed, accuracy, and engagement.

Tech‑savvy attitude: comfortable troubleshooting technology and always ready to learn the latest tools.

Flexibility and urgency: quick on your feet and ready to jump into action when news breaks.
