UI Engineer

We are looking for a UI Engineer to join our team supporting our government customer located in the Washington DC metro area. This is an onsite work opportunity. U.S. Citizenship required. This is a 1 year project.What You'll DoDesign and develop responsive, accessible UI components using React and TypeScript in alignment with federal accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508)Translate wireframes, UX designs, and acceptance criteria into high-quality, production-ready codeIntegrate RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to deliver dynamic, data-driven user experiencesDevelop and maintain unit tests using Vitest to ensure code quality, reliability, and compliance with program standardsTroubleshoot and resolve defects identified through QA testing and user feedbackParticipate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with security, performance, and usability requirementsWhat You'll BringMinimum 6 years experience developing front-end applications using React and TypeScriptDemonstrated ability to build UI components based on wireframes and UX specificationsExperience writing unit tests for front-end applications (Vitest or similar frameworks)Exposure to Azure applications; Azure DevOps toolsUnderstanding of secure coding practices and experience working in compliance-driven environmentsExcellent communication (verbal) skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailU.S. Citizenship required (due to federal contract requirements)Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Ant Design, React Query, Zustand, or similar modern UI frameworks and state management toolsExperience supporting federal programsKnowledge of accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG)Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments within government programsActive Public Trust or security clearance (or ability to obtain one)Why Join UsContribute to high-impact federal initiatives that support critical public servicesWork in a mission-driven environment focused on innovation, security, and complianceOpportunities for professional growth and exposure to modern technologies within government programsCollaborative team culture with a commitment to quality and continuous improvementSynectics is an Equal Opportunity Employer#J-18808-Ljbffr
