FOOD: Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive with Heaven's WindowsBe a part of ending hunger in San Diego and participate in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers in cities across America collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers, who participate.Volunteers will check canned and dry goods for expiration dates and sort them into categories. By supporting this event, volunteers help Heaven's Windows receive tons of donated food to distribute back into the community through partner organizations and food pantries.Opportunity Requirements & Important NotesKey Responsibilities:Unloading food from postal trucksSorting food for storageSkills & Qualifications:This opportunity requires lifting up to 30 pounds, bending, and standing.Unfortunately, no accommodations can be made for individuals with physical limitations.The space where the project takes place is wheelchair accessible.Attire: Comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty.
