Description Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Marketing develops and executes comprehensive marketing campaigns and new product development that build and sustain strong sales revenue and launches new, market-driven products.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage a team of internal Marketing and Engineering staff and related external providers
Implement marketing plans, positioning, and go-to-market strategies
Obtain and use internal and external data to help measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
Build personas and devise campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate consumers on Clarus’ product line
Lead, develop and grow an effective in-house marketing team
Manage continued development of advertising technology to improve audience management, bidding, and targeting strategies
Develop strong brand identity, position, and messaging
Provide product pricing strategies and recommendations
Develop products from concept to factory production while meeting budget and timeline requirements
Create and iterate designs through sketches, prototypes, and renderings; and use software to develop virtual models of designs
Complete design and development of new products including conceptual design, material requirements, production workflows and cost analysis and is responsible for overseeing, developing, and implementing all marketing functions.
Design production workflows to validate the concept with prototypes in the manufacturing process
Optimize material and manufacturing requirements to deliver Clarus' high-quality standard at the lowest cost
Evaluate product safety, appearance, and function to ensure the design meets all performance requirements
Secure approval by making a compelling case presenting designs and demonstrating prototypes to all levels of leadership
Provide market/industry reports and insights
Lead end of life cycle analysis and recommendations for products (i.e. sku rationalization)
Requirements Previous experience as Vice President of Marketing, Marketing Director, or other senior position
Proven success in the commercialization of consumer products in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated results leading the design and development of successful consumer products
Experience drafting product designs In SolidWorks, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and/or Revit
Strong creative skills to design products while also being able to outline production requirements and workflows
Expertise defining, analyzing, and reporting performance marketing metrics in a multi-channel environment Proven track record of building high-performance marketing/brand teams in growth environment, while creating a plan for scale across the marketing organization
Experience managing significant marketing budgets
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to all levels of the company
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position works in the office environment and as such is our business is exposed to manufacturing machines, glass and other materials, paint, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit for long periods, walk for long periods, and occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
DIRECT REPORTS: This position leads a team of approximately 10 direct reports.
