Responsible for scheduling and monitoring critical applications, the full-time remote Application Scheduler will design and maintain batch schedules using IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IzWS), ensuring smooth operations and adherence to service level agreements.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, implement, and maintain batch schedules for various applications using IzWS
Monitor scheduled jobs, proactively identifying and resolving failures or performance issues
Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize job flows and perform root cause analysis for job failures
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience with IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IzWS) or similar enterprise scheduling tools
Strong understanding of mainframe concepts and JCL
Experience with scripting languages such as REXX or JCL Procedures is a plus
Familiarity with ITIL processes related to incident, problem, and change management is desirable
